ITCHING



What Is Itching: Itching is the irritation of the skin that induces the desire to scratch, itching causes emotional, physical, psychological stress to individuals harboring diseases that cause itching.

Is Itching a disease: No, itching is not a disease on its own but a symptom of so many diseases.

What causes itching: scabies which is a skin disease and most of the veneral diseases known to man have itching as their symptom, such as syphilis, genital warts, herpes virus, staphylococcus aureus;
Then, as well as in systematic diseases not primarily related to the skin such as diabetes, obstructive liver diseases and certain kidney diseases.
Itching is also connected to some kinds of menstruation problems and in menopause. Itching often occurs in elderly persons whose skin glands are less active than before.

Different Kinds of Itching: Itching caused y veneral disease like syphilis, staphylococcus, aureus and herpes virus affects mostly the genital organs and sometime the whole body.

Itching caused by diabetes, liver disease etc comes in form of bites like that of mosquito and it can be on the whole body or any part of the body.

Itching caused reactions to certain drugs, medication, food, or environment are different to that caused by infections. Itching caused by scabies are more intensive and inconveniencing and it can disgrace somebody in the public.

Itching by dandruff is only on the head and troublesome.

How Itching can be managed: It is important to find out through diagnosis what caused the itching in particular before any medication.  Wear underclothing that will not irritate the skin.

You need help, especially in case of persistent itching in the genital and anal region.
